Star of Hope Romania Foundation, in partnership with Iaşi City Hall and with the Associations of parents having children with disabilities, invites you on Thursday, November 15th 2012, 11:00 a.m. held for the beginning of the Regional campaign to support children with disabilities, “Make a donation to change a destiny!” Grand Hall –Iaşi City Hall

Star of Hope Romania Foundation and the Associations of parents having children with disabilities - ANCAAR Iaşi, Renaşterea Speranţei Association, Cutezătorii Association and Surâsul Albastru- unfold the second edition of the campaign “Make a donation to change a destiny!” The ambassadors of this campaign are the designer Cristina Nichita and the writer Dan Lungu, who has also supported us in 2011.

The main objective of the campaign is raising awareness in the community and in the circle of local authorities regarding the rights of children with disabilities. Many children with disabilities still face discrimination and isolation. We want to influence local and central authorities to assume the good practices models brought to Romania from other European countries and also to take responsibility in supporting as many possible services for children with disabilities. We also want to support a number of 45 children with disabilities (Down syndrome, autism, cerebral paralysis) in Iaşi County in benefiting from rehabilitation therapy at the Regional Rehabilitation Center Star of Hope Iaşi.

Star of Hope Romania Foundation has begun the process of establishing the National Federation of Organizations of Parents having Children with Disabilities.

On December 3rd 2012 we will mark the International Day of People with Disabilities with a Solidarity March, which will take place in several counties, at the same time. This will be an occasion to bring to the limelight the central problems parents having children with disabilities face at present.

The central event of the campaign is the Gala of Gratitude, for children with disabilities, which will be organized on December 4th 2012. It will involve a charitable performance created by children with disabilities and it will give us the opportunity to highlight the valuable people of our community, who have been actively involved in improving the quality of life of these children. The funds obtained at the Gala will be directed to the children in rural areas who attend the activities at the Center of Star of Hope Romania Foundation.

Star of Hope Romania Foundation is a Romania nongovernmental organization, founded in 1998, having the main office in Iasi.
