“Star of Hope” Gala – part of the “Gives! Change a destiny!” Campaign

Star of Hope Romania Foundation organized on Thursday ( December 12 2013) the “Star of Hope” Gala, event which is part of the third edition of the “Give! Change a destiny!” Campaign for children with disabilities..

This Gala had as a main purpose supporting the children with disabilities which attend the “Star of Hope” Rehabilitation Center from Iasi, where there are regularly coming 64 children with disabilities, but annually about 300 children are beneficiaries of therapy services and complex assessment.

The event was a special one and brought together around 150 guests: business people, representatives of local authorities, ONG’s, media partners, people from Parliament, volunteers and representatives from our centers in Botosani, Dorohoi, Birlad, Husi and Vaslui."

“I deeply thank all those who were with us and understood how important a little help is for these children. We still struggle with issues of mentality when it comes to children who have intellectual disabilities and are regarded as irretrievable; we present these successful models from all counties where Star of Hope Romania has projects and we show that actually it is possible”, said for Dorohoi News, Aurora Vatamaniuc, the president of Star of Hope Romania.

At the Gala we had an artistic show and auction for various donated items. Many children with disabilities have received awards and all sponsors were rewarded with a painting made by children from the "Star of Hope" Center in Dorohoi, coordinated by prof . Maria Antal.

The romanian parents were impressed about the story of a family from USA. Chaise Tillotson, a young boy aged 19, who can’t talk or hear, in wheelchair, had the strenght to cross the ocean to be close aboard to children with disabilities from Romania.

Special guests from America and Sweden shared their experiences to romanian parents and gave them some answers about the questions regarding health, behaviour and spirituality.
